About 'hotel discount hotel'|Hotel Discounts for Federal Employees?

On               a               recent               vacation               to               Seattle,               my               fiancé               and               I               stayed               at               the               Hotel               Max               in               Seattle.

Located               at               620               Stewart               Street,               the               hotel               is               a               short               walk               to               many               of               the               tourist               attractions               in               downtown               Seattle,               including               Pike               Place               Market               and               the               Space               Needle.

When               I               was               planning               the               trip,               I               was               looking               for               a               place               that               was               relatively               close               to               downtown,               but               not               overly               expensive,               and               the               Hotel               Max               fit               the               bill.

You               can               also               get               a               10%               discount               off               their               best               available               rate               if               you               agree               to               pay               for               the               room               in               full               when               you               make               the               reservation.

I               decided               to               gamble               and               lock               in               the               payment               in               order               to               get               the               better               rate.
The               most               interesting               thing               about               the               Hotel               Max               is               that               it               is               chock               full               of               artwork.

There               are               more               than               350               original               paintings               and               photographs               throughout               the               hotel.

For               example,               the               doors               to               each               room               in               the               hotel               are               covered               with               a               floor               to               ceiling               photograph.

I               thought               that               this               decorating               touch               was               absolutely               fabulous.
We               arrived               at               the               hotel               a               couple               of               hours               early,               but               we               were               given               a               room               immediately.

We               stayed               on               the               7th               floor,               in               Room               705.

Our               room               door               was               covered               with               an               amazing               photograph               of               scissors               that               was               taken               by               a               Spanish               photographer.

The               room               itself               and               the               bathroom               were               fairly               tiny,               but               that               was               not               a               problem               for               us               since               we               had               planned               on               being               out               sightseeing               for               most               of               the               trip.

I               found               the               king               size               bed               to               be               extremely               comfortable,               and               I               am               pretty               picky               about               hotel               beds.
The               Hotel               Max               definitely               pays               attention               to               details.

Each               room               has               various               little               out               of               the               ordinary               amenities,               including               a               "pillow               menu"               and               a               "You               Got               It"               button               on               your               room's               telephone.
I               was               somewhat               concerned               about               staying               at               the               Hotel               Max               because               it               is               portrayed               on               the               hotel's               website               as               being               a               place               for               the               hip,               young,               and               stylish               crowd.

Because               I               don't               fall               into               any               of               those               categories,               I               thought               that               I               might               feel               out               of               place.

I               also               had               a               lurking               feeling               that               the               hotel               would               be               noisy.
               My               fears               were               completely               unfounded.

The               thing               that               I               loved               best               about               the               Hotel               Max               was               that               it               was               extremely               quiet               inside               the               hotel.

I               have               stayed               in               some               pretty               noisy               hotels               in               recent               months,               which               made               the               Hotel               Max               a               refreshing               and               welcome               change.
We               did               have               a               minor               issue               with               noise               outside               the               hotel               though.

There               was               a               ledge               just               below               our               room               where               a               mother               seagull               and               her               babies               had               apparently               taken               up               residence.

They               were               a               pretty               squawky               bunch,               particularly               in               the               morning.

I               know               that               this               problem               couldn't               be               attributed               to               the               hotel,               but               it               was               still               slightly               annoying               nonetheless.
Another               drawback               was               that               we               had               to               pay               for               internet               access.

My               fiancé               has               a               job               that               requires               him               to               work               every               day,               so               internet               access               is               a               must               when               we               travel.

I               am               so               used               to               getting               internet               access               for               free               that               I               forgot               to               check               on               the               Hotel               Max's               internet               policies               when               I               booked               the               room.

I               found               the               $13.09               charge               per               day               to               be               a               little               excessive.
We               left               the               hotel               pretty               early               in               the               morning               in               order               to               catch               a               train.

We               were               told               the               night               before               we               left               that               taxis               are               almost               always               present               right               outside               the               hotel,               so               that               there               was               no               need               to               call               down               to               the               front               desk               in               the               morning.

We               were               told               that               we               could               just               show               up               in               the               lobby               and               a               taxi               would               be               waiting.

I               was               somewhat               skeptical               about               that,               but,               as               promised,               there               were               two               taxis               sitting               right               in               front               of               the               hotel               when               we               left               at               our               early               hour.
I               would               definitely               recommend               the               Hotel               Max               as               long               as               you               don't               need               to               use               the               internet               while               you're               there!
