About 'late hotel booking'|Who Can I Book Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park with

Taking               a               trip               this               summer               anywhere               other               than               your               own               town               for               more               than               one               day               will               require               you               to               stay               in               a               hotel               or               some               other               type               of               accommodation.

Of               course,               on               your               trip,               you               want               to               have               a               great               time.

One               way               to               do               this               is               to               get               the               most               out               of               your               hotel               stay.

This               means,               in               general,               to               get               the               best               price,               get               the               deal,               and               get               the               best               service.

So               how               do               you               go               about               this?

As               an               avid               traveler               for               20               years,               I               have               stayed               in               many               hotels               and               other               accommodations.

I               have               gone               through               the               booking               process               at               least               twice               a               year,               with               many               changes               resulting               from               introduction               of               the               internet               options               for               booking.

In               over               50               hotels               stays               during               this               time,               including               time-shares,               one-bedroom               suites               with               kitchens,               and               basic               hotel               rooms,               I               have               learned               alot               about               how               to               make               the               most               out               of               your               stay.

I               would               like               to               share               these               tips               with               you...
               Booking
               1.

Book               directly               through               the               hotel,               rather               than               through               a               discount               hotel               service.

This               offers               several               advantages.

The               biggest,               to               me,               is               that               if               you               book               through               the               hotel,               you               generally               will               not               be               charged               upfront.

You               give               your               credit               card               number,               and               you               are               charged               upon               checking               out               of               the               hotel.

This               saves               you               having               to               come               up               with               the               money               before               the               trip               for               the               hotel               stay.

Also,               if               you               have               to               change               your               trip               or               cancel               it,               generally               if               you               give               48               hours               notice               to               the               hotel,               or               whatever               their               policy               is,               you               won't               lose               any               money.

If               you               had               gone               through               a               discount               service,               like               Orbitz,               you               would               pay               a               $25               to               $50               cancellation               fee.

You               would               also               have               to               go               through               the               process               of               getting               a               refund               if               you               prepaid,               which               could               take               some               time.
               2.

Look               for               specials               where               you               will               be               staying.

You               can               use               the               internet               to               do               this.

For               example,               if               you               wish               to               stay               at               Atlantis,               go               to               their               website.

On               the               website,               there               is               a               particular               place               for               specials               going               on               at               that               time.

For               example,               if               you               stay               certain               dates               you               can               get               a               discount               on               your               stay.
This               is               helpful               because               you               might               find               that               by               changing               the               dates               of               your               stay               to               the               previous               weekend,               you               could               save               money               on               the               room               rates.

Or,               you               could               find               that               by               adding               one               night               to               your               overall               stay,               you               could               get               a               free               night.

Also,               there               might               be               a               current               discount               available               that               you               wouldn't               have               known               about-               one               that               required               you               asking               about               it               to               get               the               discount.
               3.

Once               you               have               looked               on               the               internet               for               specials,               call               the               hotel               and               ask               about               specials.

If               you               see               a               great               deal               with               Orbitz,               call               the               hotel               and               ask               them               if               they               can               match               this               special.

Then,               you               get               the               same               rate,               and               don't               have               to               prepay               or               be               charged               a               cancel               fee               if               your               plans               would               happen               to               change.

Also,               while               callling               the               hotel,               ask               if               they               offer               any               type               of               discounts.

For               instance,               they               might               offer               a               ten               percent               discount               if               you               are               a               member               of               Triple               A.
               4.

Join               Triple               A.

If               you               are               going               to               take               two               or               more               extended               hotel               stays               in               one               year,               it               is               a               good               idea               to               join               triple               A.

It               costs               about               $60               to               join               Triple               A               for               one               year.

If               you               stay               a               total               of               ten               nights               at               hotels               in               one               year,               each               time               receiving               a               ten               percent               discount,               you               would               save               $100               that               year               by               being               a               member.

So,               overall               you               have               saved               $40.

(Plus,               you               get               other               benefits               such               as               help               with               travel               planning               and               roadside               assistance               if               you               have               an               emergency.)

For               example,               with               Southwest               Rapid               Rewards,               you               can               get               a               half               point               towards               the               16               points               needed               for               free               travel               each               time               you               stay               in               a               Choice               hotel!

You               can               ask               the               hotel,               also,               if               they               give               you               a               discount               if               you               belong               to               one               of               these               programs.

Sometimes,               you'll               get               up               to               a               fifteen               percent               discount!

Book               a               hotel               that               has               the               accommodations               you               need.

If               you               need               an               outdoor               pool,               check               to               see               that               the               hotel               has               one,               and               that               it's               not               currently               under               construction.

This               happened               to               me               twice               in               the               Bahamas!

If               you               want               a               restaurant               nearby               or               on               the               grounds,               see               if               this               is               available.

When               you               are               booking               your               stay,               or               after,               you               can               ask               the               hotel               about               special               requests.

For               instance,               do               you               need               handicapped               accessibility               for               your               room?

You               can               also               request               to               have               one               king               size               bed               instead               of               two               double               beds-               generally               both               are               the               same               price.

You               could               ask               for               a               scenic               view,               such               as               facing               the               water               or               not               facing               a               highway               (like               if               you               book               inOrlando).

I               always               like               to               request               a               non-smoking               room,               not               used               by               pets               (becomes               more               of               an               issue               in               Europe),               with               a               good               view,               in               the               newest               section               or               recently               renovated               section.

You               would               be               surprised               that               just               by               requested               a               better               room,               you               can               get               one.
               9.

Be               so               nice,               it               is               unbelievable.

If               you               are               going               to               be               making               special               requests,               and               you               want               to               have               a               nice               stay,               you               need               to               treat               people               the               way               you               would               want               to               be               treated.

If               you               start               in,               instantly               demanding               certain               things,               you               may               not               get               much               of               a               positive               response.

I               like               to               say,               "I               was               wondering               if               you               could               honor               this               special               request.

I               know               it's               asking               alot,               but               I               would               really               appreciate               it."               Just               letting               the               hotel               staff               know               that               you               appreciate               their               efforts,               and               appreciate               the               fact               that               they               have               to               do               extra               work               to               accommodate               them,               they               will               want               to               treat               you               better.

Don't               think               that               just               because               you               are               paying               for               the               room,               gives               you               a               right               to               be               hostile               to               the               staff.
               10.

Once               you               have               made               the               special               request,               get               an               email               confirmation               of               your               reservation               that               shows               that               the               special               requests               were               put               on               there.

It               could               happen,               by               innocent               error,               that               the               staff               doesn't               put               in               your               request.

This               has               happened               to               me               at               least               twice,               so               be               careful!
               11.

Know               the               policies               of               the               hotel.

If               check               in               time               is               at               4               pm,               and               you               need               to               check               in               later,               find               out               if               you               have               to               let               them               know               you               will               have               a               late               arrival.

If               check               out               time               is               at               12,               and               you               can't               check               out               until               noon,               talk               to               the               front               desk               to               find               out               if               this               is               possible.

Explain               the               situation               and               ask               nicely               if               they               can               accommodate               the               extra               hour.

Often,               an               hour               grace               period               is               given,               but               sometimes               you               have               to               ask               for               it               and               let               them               know               what               is               going               on!

If               you               respect               the               policies,               and               keep               the               hotel               informed,               you               are               less               likely               to               encounter               problems               that               will               cost               you               additional               money.

Also,               you               will               avoid               having               your               reservation               cancelled               if               you               show               up               after               a               certain               time               and               haven't               let               them               know               on               the               date               of               check-in!
               12.

Arrive               early,               to               get               the               best               room.

Often,               hotels               don't               give               room               assignments               ahead               of               time.

They               wait               until               that               day.

So,               if               you               arrive               to               check               in               at               three,               as               opposed               to               seven               pm,               you               could               end               up               getting               a               better               room.

Most               often,               the               front               desk               staff               will               give               out               the               best               rooms               first,               and               then               move               down               towards               the               lesser               and               lesser               choices.

Also,               the               more               people               ahead               of               you,               the               more               have               had               time               to               make               last               minute               requests,               such               a               a               room               with               a               view               or               non-smoking.

This               also               gives               you               time               to               work               out               any               issue               that               would               surface               with               the               room,               such               as               an               error               made               in               your               request               or               an               oversight.

During               the               day,               you               are               also               more               likely               to               find               management               available               to               address               any               concerns.
               13.

Use               the               advantages               the               hotel               has               to               offer.

For               instance,               if               they               provide               a               concierge               service,               talk               to               the               concierge.

The               concierge               may               be               able               to               get               you               discount               tickets               to               a               local               attraction,               or               10%               off               your               meal               at               a               certain               restaurant.

They               can               also               often               make               reservations               for               you               at               a               restaurant,               and               book               a               tour               for               you               of               the               local               area.
This               goes               even               further               to               say               that               you               should               use               what               the               hotel               has.

If               the               hotel               has               a               spa               service,               you               will               most               likely               get               a               discount               for               staying               there.

Book               your               massage               at               the               hotel               instead               of               going               somewhere               else               in               the               area.

Use               the               pools               in               the               hotel,               to               save               money               going               to               a               water               attraction.

It               goes               without               saying               that               you               can               save               money               by               staying               at               the               hotel               grounds               all               day               rather               than               venturing               into               the               local               area.

You'll               end               up               spending               more               money.
               14.

If               there               is               something               you               need               for               your               room               and               you               don't               see               it,               ask.

For               instance,               often               times               hotels               will               have               a               few               mini-refrigerators               available               if               you               ask               to               have               one.

They               don't               have               enough               for               every               room,               but               upon               request,               you               can               have               one.

The               same               might               go               for               a               hair               dryer               or               iron.

You               might               be               able               to               get               extra               packets               of               coffee               for               the               coffee               machine,               or               hot               chocolate               packets               instead               of               coffee.

If               you               forgot               your               toothbrush               or               deodorant,               the               hotel               might               have               this               to               give               to               you               at               no               additional               charge.
