About 'traders hotel'|What Is the Setting Call It Courage?
Going to Disney World is expensive in the first place. It is usually worth the cost because it is such an amazing place. But, we still want to save money any where we can. When my family went for the first time, I realized there were so many things I wished I would have packed. They would have saved me so much money. I hated that I paid 3 times more in Disney for batteries than the ones I had left at home. Now, it is a given, but worth mentioning that you should pack extras of the things you could run out of like sunscreen or toothpaste. Below is a list of some of the things you might want to consider finding the room for in your suitcase. Some are ideas of things you might consider buying at home since it will cost much less than buying them from Mickey. Small collapsible cooler. You probably didn't know this, as I didn't, by Disney allows these in their parks. Bottled water and beverages. You will save approximately 3 bucks for every water or beverage you bring yourself. That can add up fast. If you only have room for one bottle, take it and refill it all day using the drinking fountains. Snacks. By just bringing a few snacks, you will save a lot of money. You can sometimes pack things like cheese crackers for children and that can stretch your lunch budget a lot. Disney Pins. If you plan on trading pins, take some from home to trade in Disney. My sister's family goes to Disney twice a year and they find cheaper versions on Ebay and places. They take the "traders" with them to trade for ones that they collect. They have found pins as cheap as a buck at outlets and the like. They start at $6 in Disney. Disney Clothes. You might think you won't want to dress like the locals until you get there. You might find yourself wanting to get spirited by wearing a character or 2. Why not shop at the Disney Store from home for t-shirts and sweatshirts? Since most of us plan for Disney far in advance, you can buy items off season and pay clearance prices. You can save them for your trip and then put them on while at Disney World. Hats. Hats are a great way to shield the sun. You can find Disney character hats almost anywhere before you leave. You can also buy plain hats at a craft store and iron on a Disney character for under 5 bucks. Umbrella and ponchos. My sister said that these should top the list. If you should encounter rain in Disney, umbrellas and ponchos make the difference in going back to the hotel for the day or staying and having a great time anyway. Autograph book and pen. You will need them anyway, you might as well buy them for a fraction of the cost at home. We bought an adorable plush Cinderella notebook and used it as an autograph book. A character pen is fun to hand to the character for signing too. Video tapes, extra film, and extra camera batteries. You can't have enough of these. I know people who spent 3x the money at Disney for these items. Don't take the chance. Light Sticks. You will see light up stuff everywhere to buy in Disney. Our Dollar Store has a 6 pack of light sticks for a buck. Buy them before you go, they take up almost no room in your suitcase. Light Spinners. We bought 4 or 5 of these for our children and they were $15 a piece. They are really cool and hard to pass up. You can find them on clearance at the Disney Store a lot. I saw them at KB Toys too after our trip. Save them and present them to your children when they see them offered for sale on the streets of Disney World. Disney Toys. Buy Disney toys before you go and give them to your kids when they are asking to shop at the toy stores in Disney World. They won't know the difference. Shoes. Your shoes break and you will be paying a lot of money for a new pair. Shove an extra pair in for each family member. There will always be unforeseen costs in Disney. Heck, you might like to save this money so you can spend it in another area of Disney. Whatever the reason, think about these things as you pack. Who wants to blow money on boring batteries when you can buy something with black ears on it? Not me. |
